Each and every one of us has our own personal story, but for parents of premature babies our journey into parenthood and our experiences of life after neonatal care may be reassuringly similar. Storytelling can be an extraordinarily powerful tool – with stories that offer hope, those that make us think or give us courage. Stories can bring us comfort and let us know that we are not alone. They can educate and reveal a hidden world not always spoken about. They can raise awareness and offer support. Through our blog series parents share their own experiences of premature birth and beyond.
If you have a story to share please get in touch.
Feeding
Feeding a baby born too soon can be one of the biggest challenges parents face in NICU, from expressing round the clock to establishing breastfeeding. Parents share their stories, offering tips, advice and hope for families currently journeying through neonatal care.
Neonatal journeys
We know that unless you’ve been there it can be hard to understand what time spent caring for your premature baby or babies in neonatal care is really like. Sharing stories of neonatal care lets other parents know that they are not alone and helps to raise awareness of an often hidden world.
Dads Do NICU
Fathers face their own unique challenges following the premature birth of a baby, often juggling work and other childcare responsibilities while caring for their newborn in NICU. We are pleased to have our own #DadsDoNICU series and invite fathers to carry on sharing their stories.
After NICU
Parents tell us all the time that the journey doesn't end when they bring their baby home from hospital and we know that families face ongoing challenges. Here parents share their stories of life #AfterNICU.
